Elementary School Tours!!!

Good day all! Today, me and my whole orchestra went around Logan on a "tour" to all the elementary schools. We are trying to get kids excited about orchestra, and recruiting who we can. We're also going to be playing one piece with the fifth graders at every school, "Swashbucklin' Sailors". I've only played it once, and it was interesting. The fifth graders played it better than I did! :) No one was far ahead of me though. She only gave us the music two days ago. It was really fun though.
We played (other than Swashbucklin' Sailors) Mozart's "Eine Kliene Nachtmusik", "On the Trail" from the Grand Canyon Suite by Ferde Grofe', "Professor Wigstein's Amazing Melody Machine" by Richard Meyer, "North Star to Freedom" by Soon Hee Newbold , "Plink Plank Plunk" by Leroy Anderson, 'Hogwarts Hymn and The Quidditch World Cup-The Irish" from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by Patrick Doyle, and "Gauntlet'' by Doug Spata.
Kyle dressed up as Harry Potter, and Timo dressed up as Professor Wigstein. During the part of the Harry Potter song when the Irish fiddle tune starts, Kyle started dancing and jumping around. The kids LOVED it! They were laughing so hard. It was way cute! Hunter played his guitar, and Aaron played his bass guitar on Gauntlet. It was pretty cool. On the first concert they were in the back of the stage, and no one could see or hear them, but at the rest of them, they were in the front, and the kiddos went nuts!!! It was way cute.
Hillcrest was our last school, so I didn't have to go back to the high school with everybody else. That was nice. Randi and her mom came to watch us because Randi's sister Charlie was one of the fifth graders playing with us. It was pretty fun. I wasn't happy about getting up this morning when I didn't have school, but it turned out to be a pretty good experience. Love you guys!!!
The rest of the day was just a lot of fun with friends, especially at lunch. The pizza got to the high school a half-hour late, but it worked out okay.
